Stronger Protection of Paddock trees

Up2Us Landcare Alliance, alongside local residents, is advocating for stronger planning regulations to protect native trees and vegetation in the Mansfield Shire. Rapid growth in the area has led to increased tree removal, prompting concerns about the loss of remnant vegetation.

The Mansfield Shire Council supports the cause but highlights that state planning rules currently limit their ability to protect larger trees. Up2Us and the community are actively campaigning to influence state policy to ensure long-term environmental protection.

A letter template has been written for concerned residents to send to State MP Sonya Kilkenny Minister of Planning Victoria, urging changes to current policies.
