Past Projects

  • Inspiring Small Farms to Grow Big Ideas

In November 2014 Up2Us Landcare Alliance, Mansfield Victoria, received funding from The William Buckland Foundation & FRRR to work with small acreage landholders in the Mansfield region to explore sustainable agricultural practices and horticultural options. After much received interest from landholders within the region six properties were chosen to hold Garlic, Capers and alternative pasture fertiliser demonstrations. Altitude and soil types were taken into account when selecting sites so that comparisons could be made at how crops respond to the different environmental conditions. Due to the huge success of the project Up2Us have received further funding from the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GBCMA) to introduce phase two of the project. Phase two will consist of four on farm demonstrations, farm tours, workshops and education.

  • Learning with Landcare

In August 2023, Up2Us Landcare Alliance, with support from the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, delivered a two day event aimed at young adults in tertiary education and those who wish to gain experience in the Natural Resource Management (NRM) sector. The event offered participants an opportunity to network with people in industry, gain on-ground experience, and develop leadership skills.

  • Linking Landscapes

Over 8,000 indigenous species have been planted across the Mansfield Shire on private land to improve landscape connectivity and support Endangered Grassy Woodlands and threatened species, such as the Eastern Bent wing bat and Brush tailed phascogale.

This revegetation project was completed in 2023.
