Linking Landscapes
The Linking Landscapes project saw over 8,000 indigenous species planted throughout the Mansfield Shire on private land in 2023. Over fifteen landowners were engaged to complete revegetation projects on their properties. Many of these properties had been previously subdivided and are now in small acre lots (5-100 acres).
The revegetation works done under this project will create valuable linkages across the subdivided landscape, and when mature will create essential habitat for many of our local endangered species. Many of these properties also have small areas of remnant vegetation. Revegetating on these properties has provided important protection for these remnant pockets of vegetation, and has increased both the faunal and flora biodiversity in the area.
See below for some before and after photos of the revegetation plantings.
