River Health

Waterways are of great significance in the Mansfield shire. The benefits of native overstory and under story are well documented. The positive effects of native vegetation includes abating erosion, creating habitat for wildlife, increasing biodiversity, improving sediment control, lowering water temperatures, reducing evaporation and enhancing the landscapes natural beauty. Native vegetation helps to ensure our rivers and streams can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Up2Us Landcare Alliance in conjunction with the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority offer financial support and advice on improving vegetation along the Mansfield Shire’s streams and rivers with financial assistance for planting, fencing, off-stream water supply and on-ground support for the removal of willows. If you feel this program could benefit your property, fill out the enquiry form below and we will contact you to discuss the program, alternatively please contact Rhiannon at landcare2@up2us.org.au or on 57791593.
