What’s on in March – Carp, Erosion, Schools and Community Event

Up2Us Landcare Alliance and the Mansfield Primary School are once again combining forces to run a water day with the grade 2 and grade 6’s buddy day at Mirimbah on the 14th of March. See attached photos for the fun that we had last year.

A new initiative is the Erosion Control Day which is being held on the 21st of March at Bonnie Doon. We will be presenting issues that are faced by all landowners in this highly erodible soil with Kerri Goshnick from Department of Environment and Primary Industries as our primary speaker. He has worked in erosion and soils for 30 years. Please contact Kerstie Lee if you are interested.

A family education evening will be held on the 30th of March incorporating “How to fish” with local fishing expert and picnic tea to enjoy whilst relaxing on the banks of Lake Nillahcootie. The evening focus will be on fishing out the Carp in our waterways and learning why this is important to our lake and river system. Please contact Kerstie Lee for further information or to register for catering purposes. See some attached images from our last family fun event.

Lastly, on the 31st of March Up2Us Landcare Alliance will join with the Mansfield Shire in the community event called ‘Mansfield Do It Festival’. If there is information about any Landcare issues or items, or you just want to say ‘Hello’, please feel free to drop into our Landcare tent. See you there! Here is some images from our last community event in Mansfield.
