The National Environment Centre is a specialist TAFE College, part of the Riverina Institute of TAFE. This campus includes a 190 hectare certified
organic farm, which is run on agroecology principles. The farm produces fattail lambs, for the local farmers’ markets. It has a small olive grove,
redgum fire woodlots and is just in the development phase of a boxed vegetable program, Bardigrub production, pasture based poultry, pasture
based pork, honey and dryland herb production.
This section of the NEC specialises in developing systems of food production that are suitable in times of change and uncertainty in weather, social structure, politics and environmental awareness and responsibility.
