National Tree Day 2019

Do you know how you can enhance our local ecosystems, give back to our community and reduce your carbon footprint all while getting your hands dirty? Join in the National Tree Planting Day for 2019 is the answer!

With its roots dating back to 1996 National Tree Day has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature protection event. With a goal of planting 1 million native trees and shrubs across the country this year the event is a call to action for our community members to put our hands in the earth and give back!

This is a great day to venture outdoors, get to know your local community and most importantly have fun all while getting to learn a little about the world around us.

This year sees Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail and Fords Creek Landcare Group partnering to help you plant a few trees and enjoy a free snag or two on Sunday 28th July from 10am at Olivers Road along the rail trail – riding your bike to the event is another great way to reduce your carbon footprint for the day!
