We all know plastic isn’t so fantastic – a material made from petroleum designed to last forever, yet usually used only once before being thrown away taking hundreds of years to break down and causing negative impacts to the environment especially our marine life.
Currently only around 5% of single-use plastics such as plastic bags, coffee cups, water bottles and straws are recycled with around half being buried in landfill and a small proportion being made into durable goods.
