Local Supermarkets on track to be Single-Use Plastic Bag Free!

Its not long now until the 1st July and the retirement of single-use plastic bags from Marks IGA Mansfield and FoodWorks Mansfield checkouts. To help make sure you’re ready for this positive, sustainable change, both supermarkets have a wide variety of plastic-free options to choose from – reusable bags, cardboard boxes, paper bags and trolley bags, a nifty reusable shopping organiser that helps you sort and pack your shopping in half the time, gotta love that!

Marks IGA Mansfield are also offering an ingenious option of 8x reusable carrier bags that are kept in a small pouch ideally sized for storing in the glovebox of your car or even in your handbag! They have also extended for another couple of weeks their promotion where for every $100 you spend you receive a free reusable bag which is made from recycled plastic – to date Marks IGA Mansfield has given away over 2,500 bags!!!

FoodWorks Mansfield have extended their range of environmentally friendly bags with lots of different options and will have more promotions coming soon.

So if you haven’t already got yourself sorted for the 1st July, now’s the time to get ready to be single-use plastic bag free.
